Ryan Robertson has been practicing law with LRK since 2004 and is a Partner with the firm.  His practice  focus is centered on Public Utility and Energy Law.  Ryan and his father Eric represent the Illinois Industrial Energy Consumer group, consisting of large industrial customers sensitive to changes in utility rates and legislative endeavors that seek to increase the cost of doing business through additional taxes and regulations.  In addition to his public utility practice Ryan has been an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Granite City since 2004, an Assistant States Attorney with Madison County since 2011, and the Attorney for the Granite City Park District since 2012.  While his focus is Public Utility and Energy Law, Ryan also handles Estate and Probate work as well as Municipal Law.

Ryan grew up in Granite City, Illinois and did his undergraduate as well as graduate studies at St. Louis University.  After graduation Ryan joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corp and took a position with Texas Rural Legal Aid in Edinburgh, Texas.  Ryan ran the Advocacy Research Center for Housing (ARCH) program which focused on assisting underprivileged residents with housing disputes and landlord tenant mediation.  After concluding his time in Texas, Ryan interned as an Illinois State Senate Staff Appropriation Analyst where he was responsible for analyzing the budgets of ten state agencies totaling $876,610,500.00 of the State of Illinois budget.   

Ryan continues to remain active in the Granite City community.  Ryan serves as 1st Vice President of the Southwestern Madison County Chamber of Commerce.  Ryan is a former President of the Phoenix Crisis Center, a domestic violence shelter for women, and he currently serves on the Tri-Cities United Way Area Direct Assistance Committee.

Ryan enjoys traveling and seeing the world.  His most recent adventures have taken him to Egypt, Haiti and Cuba.  Ryan is married to a 7th grade science teacher and has an amazing son and daughter.  Ryan’s competitive nature finds its outlet in powerlifting where he competes against area powerlifters, always in pursuit of increased totals.

Ryan is a member of the Tri-City Bar Association, Madison County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Energy Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
